Installing sTeX

The probably simplest way to install the sTeX packages is to check out the sTeX distribution from the subversion repository; either the trunk or one of the branches. This can be done by typing svn co https://svn.kwarc.info/repos/stex/trunk into a terminal (as  LaTeXML only works on UNIX-based systems or cygwin we do not bother to give Windows check out instructions).

You will also have to install  LaTeXML, the LaTeX-to-XML converter we use for sTeX by following these  instructions. Actually, we use a branch of LaTeXML for sTeX, so you should either follow the  installation from a repository with https://svn.mathweb.org/repos/LaTeXML/branches/arXMLiv or use one of the  Package-based installs and then check out https://svn.mathweb.org/repos/LaTeXML/branches/arXMLiv and redo the latter part of  installation from source to update to the branch.

When this is accomplished, you can go to the trunk/example directory and test your installation and the Makefile-based automation of sTeX by running make -B omdoc, which will re-transform the file trunk/example/paper.tex to trunk/example/paper.omdoc.
